Old crypto never dies

from here

It's not just MD5 that won't go away, apparently Cloudflare found (among other things) that TripleDES is still around after all these years too.

Delete My Browser History Medic Alert Bracelet (merchandise)

available on Amazon

Personally, I don't leave the kind of browsing history I'd want deleted sitting around in the first place, but if you happen to not be as careful then maybe this is for you. It's described as a gag, but privacy is no joke.

They often seem more interested in dirty bums than dirty bombs

from here

Considering how invasive the TSA can be in their searches, I hope they have to deal with the occasional brown fountain.

Even hackers screw up when it comes to security

found on iFunny

On the one hand it could be argued that if even the experts (like the hackers themselves) can't do this stuff right then maybe we shouldn't feel so bad when we mess it up ourselves.

On the other hand, it could also be argued that being a famous hacker is a little bit like being a famous smuggler.

They might even be opposites

from here (source image)

Since this is supposed to be Russia, perhaps something got lost in translation.

If only it were that easy

found on Meme Center

I don't mean to belittle this act of disobedient privacy protection, that's actually pretty great, but hacking isn't just adding an S to the URL.

I thought they were supposed to be smart

Do you think the cybercriminal underworld will learn it's lesson from the longest ever US hacking sentence? My guess would be "no".

Don't pick up 'chocolate' off the ground either

from here

Good advice all around - don't pick up 'chocolate' or USB drives. Some things are just better left where you found them.

Thank goodness for good barriers. Without them, this scene would be a lot less funny.

You have to think SQL injection is something the Irish are more sensitive to than the average developer, considering their names.

Much like Java and JavaScript, Tor is to torrent what car is to carrot.

Not even Woody is safe from the TSA

I'm not even getting your job from a pizza box explains this level of stupidity. It's clearly a toy and far too small for anyone to consider a serious threat.

'Special' Security

from here

The embarrassing (for McAfee) screenshot was originally tweeted by Trumpton Labour, but it has since been deleted, so I have no working link for the original image.

How to deter literate burglars

found on Imgur

Obviously this security system operates primarily on deterrence. It's like a "Beware of Dog" sign but with a lot more words, which makes me wonder if perhaps it's missing it's target audience.

I don't think that's what "anti" is supposed to mean

from here

I'm not sure Cylance understands that anti-malware is supposed to be against malware. They talk about integrity but apparently not about principles.

Uncanny Camouflage

I don't know about you but if I were actually there and someone appeared to just walk out of a vending machine like that I think it would creep me out.

Private Snafu vs. Spies

Loose lips sink ships as the saying goes. That being said, who knew they were using cartoons to teach OpSec to the military back in the old days? That's amazing to me.

Thank Judas for chocolate eggs

from here

The resurrection wouldn't have happened without the crucifixion, which in turn wouldn't have happened without Judas.

Now the argument could be made that the eggs have more to do with a pagan goddess named Ä’ostre, but most people don't remember or were never taught anything about pagan gods and goddesses, so without the Jesus connection it's probable Easter would have been lost to history like so many other things.

Hidden eggs and hidden dangers

found on Demotivational Posters

You don't generally hear about kids needing face guards for Easter egg hunts but you do hear about some kids not playing well with others so this outcome is not all that hard to imagine in the grand scheme of things.

Maybe you shouldn't be surprised when they act like villains

Is there really a big difference here? You know the saying "Power corrupts"? Well, what do you think that means for the people in power?

Transparent Luggage

Who needs baggage x-rays when you've got luggage like this. Hope you don't mind people seeing your underwear (and any other unmentionables you might happen to pack). Probably it'll help avoid accidentally packing the family pet too.

When your defenses come pre-fuzzed

from here (source image)

Of course, the most obvious way the armoured kitten will protect your electronics is by curling up on the warm parts like the power adapter, thereby spreading it's armour over them.

Admit it - you wish more protection came pre-fuzzed now, don't you.

They're not fighting, they're training captive bees to survive in the wild

found on Gagomatic

Truthfully it never occurred to me that fencing uniforms and bee keeper uniforms look similar but I suppose with both of them requiring protection against getting stabbed in the face I guess there are comparisons that can be drawn.

Now I can safely reply to the prince of Nigeria

from here

You know who impresses me? The people who take these calls and then have fun at the scammer's expense. Every single time I get a call like this I find it either too exasperating or too infuriating to try that kind of gag.

Halt and catch fire

from here (source image)

While it can certainly be said that humans have (arguably) mastered fire, I feel comfortable declaring that we have not mastered the Internet. Check out the product page and tell me you don't see ways to interrupt or give false data that could ultimately lead to a fire.

Thanks to Sam Knutson for tweeting the source image.

I'm not sure if this is a parody of an existing song or an original work, but it highlights some of the worst things about the TSA in the form of a catchy tune.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that's fitness equipment on the other side of that turnstile, so it makes you wonder: is the turnstile mean to keep people out or keep people in.

Because memory works so much better under pressure

So much for "educational purposes"

from here

It seems to me that if you're going to argue that teaching malware creation inherently teaches how to defend against malware, then you should probably be able to defend against something as simple as ransomware, especially since the defense is equally simple - maintain backups.

For Security!

You can't tell me you haven't gone through this at least once. I think every windows user (and probably users of other systems too) have had to deal with the disruption of intrusive updates. It's a shame there doesn't appear to be a better way.
