i don't know what's stranger: that microsoft has given up trying to predict what malware samples are going to be in comparative tests, or the fact that they were ever doing this in the first place.

you can't predict what malware will succeed in the wild or when, so i think most people are expecting anti-malware vendors to do their best to catch it all, not just what anti-malware testers use in their tests.

(do people even remember carnac the magnificent anymore?)
